Plot Summary:
In 1936, the expatriated teenager and naive barely-graduated British John Truscott (Hugh Dancy) arrives to the Sarawak, a British colony, to occupation in the Iban association. The comely Selima (Jessica Alba) is assigned to be his “sleeping dictionary”, to exist and repose with him and pierce him the dialect and habits of the locals. The resistant John and Selima inroad in honour for each other in a forbidden intrigue.
